Everyday is a new start, what will you make of today?

I am sitting here at my desk, planning my week on a Monday. Mondays are actually quite exciting for me, why? It is a mark of a new week.

Today I get to begin the next week, on a new leg of the journey of life. A new week, a new start, this is part of what makes the journey adventurous. Every week is brand new, in fact everyday is a brand new adventure.

Sometime in the lengthy process of life we forget that this whole thing is a journey, a long adventure. We get swept up with the day to day, and today seems to endlessly connect to the next day in a repetitive cycle of monotony. Is it or are we not looking at it correctly.

Yet like most things in life everything is a projection of perception isn’t it. To me Mondays are a new beginning. At the start of each week I turn my head back for only a little, to see what I did the week before, and then look forward, this week what I plan to do. What will I do to make it up this leg of the mountain just a little bit further?

From the strengths I gained from yesterday, I will do better this week, live better, journey better, realize a better quality of life with each passing week, in fact with each passing day, as they say the pennies make the dollars.

So here I am thinking to myself what I need to do to improve my week this week. What are the thing I have learned, where do I need to study more, where do I need to apply more actions, what categories of life do I want to make better for myself. One day at a time till I get to the end of this week, to a higher peak, lets begin to sail the sea’s of life.

Yes it’s Monday, a new start is a beautiful thing, a blank canvas, although a better canvas. To realize that yesterday’s failures and success don’t matter, that this week we get to start again, stronger, wiser, better. Also to realize that yesterdays successes also do not matter, that yesterday’s success can become merely stories of the good ol’days. That I am not ready for as there are still hundreds upon hundreds of better days to come, and I am ready to get it one leg at a time.

Do you know that story of Sisyphus?

He was punished by the Gods to push a boulder up a hill only to have it roll down and do it again the next day. An endless repetition of monotony. Sounds familiar?

Here’s the thing though. That maybe the boulder is the thing that give him meaning, that the that each time he not only gets stronger for pushing it up the hill, that each time he finds a better way to get it up the hill, that tomorrow when the boulder sits at the bottom of the hill again he gets to apply and practice what he has endlessly practiced over an eternity, that some how over time, this boulder has given his the greatest meaning and joy to face it over and over again for all of eternity.

Life becomes a game of perception, and perception allows us to move through life either incapacitated to endure, or a strength to joyously love the process of the repetitions of what is now meaningful monotony.

Where do you want to start this Monday? Which boulder shall you move this week?

Here are a few categories of life.

Health and Fitness, Mind and Spirit, Career and Finance, Family and Social, Quality of life and Leisure.

This is new week, you choose your adventure, in this appearing long yet in reality short time in life.

Much love,

Lucky Nghi
